Summary
The making of string from possum fur was a highly specialised skill and achieved with the use of a spindle. The only person in Arnhem Land that the anthropologist Donald Thomson recorded making possum fur was Makani Wilingarr. However this kit does not appear to have been collected from him but a specialist from the Djinba clan.
