By the 1830s, pressed tablewares were being mass-produced and from the 1870s pressing had become the most common manufacturing technique for cheaper tablewares.

One fragment of the base of a clear glass item, possibly a decorative dish. The item has been press moulded, with starburst pattern on the base and a small area of hatched design on the side. Date range of manufacture is circa 1820 to circa mid-20th century.
