Printed baggage tag issued to Qantas employee John Lynch for a Concorde flight from Melbourne to Singapore on 12 August 1975. Concorde G-BAOC was operating a series of long distance flights both for publicity and flight testing purposes.

Significance

The BAC/Aerospatiale Concorde supersonic airliner was one of the most significant technological developments of the twentieth century. It engendered both support and fierce environmental opposition. It was intended that Concorde flights from Australia to Europe should begin in about 1977 but no regular passenger flights were every operated.
