The Fokker D.VII was serial no. 8488/18 built by O.A.W (Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke) at Schneidemuhl fitted with a Mercedes 160 horsepower engine. It was not transferred to Sydney when to War Museum was relocated in 1925 and was noted as being stored along with other German aircraft and engines at the Exhibition Building Melbourne in March 1937. The material was assessed by Group Captain Eric Harrison RAAF following a request by the REB Trustees to remove it and it is believed to have been destroyed shortly thereafter.
