Image showing the Latvian weaver, Anita Apinis-Herman at work at her table loom. Anita was an original participant in the Contemporary Craft and Cultural Identity Project in 1992. She is second generation Latvian weaver, she was taught by her mother Anna and then undertook further training at the Melbourne College of Textiles. Table looms are designed to take up less space but can offer 4, 8 or 12-shafts which allows the weaver to produce very complex designs. The photograph was taken by project curator Deborah Tout-Smith.
