Summary
This necklace is typical of the type of ornament made and worn by women in the arid regions of Australia. These and other similar ornaments were made for both ceremonial and decorative purposes. A very small number of the ornaments collected by Baldwin Spencer have pendants or decorative elements made of dingo tail as in the one here.
Physical Description
A neck ornament of sixteen strands of string bound and coated in red ochre. It has single string attached at either end, one of which is finished with segments from a dingo tail.
