Item X 11197 Canoe. Yanyuwa. McArthur River, Gulf, Northern Territory, Australia. c. 1900

Physical Description

A bark canoe made from two sheets of bark sewn together to form the hull. The rim is supported with a single sapling secured along the length of each side. Strakes are tied across the hull to form a structure to keep the form.
