Young boy riding in a toy plane, waving. This photograph shows William 'Bill' Edwards, in a toy plane, in about 1943. He built the plane with the help of his father Robert Edwards, using household found items such as a sieve, pots and pans and bed sheets. His father then took a photograph of the sky and a separate image of Bill in the plane and superimposed one over the other in the printing process.
