Description of Content
A group of children in 'pageant' dress, posed for a studio picture. This photograph was taken to celebrate a Queen's Parade at St Andrew's School Werribee, about 1924. According to the family, Queen's Parades were a typical kind of primary school festival in the early 1900's, usually held at the end of the school year to give the children something to look forward to. The photographer, Alice Mills, was a well-known Melbourne professional photographer of the early 1900's who specialised in photographs of women and children. Lex Dunlop is seated to the right. The photograph was found by the family in Lex's belongings after his death.
