Boy and girl in toy car on laneway in Parkdale, 1939. This photograph was taken on the 3rd birthday of Thomas Stevens. He and his sister were riding in a toy car that was handed down to three generations of children. James Stevens, the photographer of this image and father of the children in the photograph, was the owner of a grocery shop in Como Parade West Parkdale. The lane in this photograph was behind his shop. Also see mm110128 and mm1101259 which show the second and third generations of this family to use this toy car.
