Description of Content
Woman in uniform, standing by the back door of her father's Austin A40 car in the front driveway. Marlene Trenberth as an official driver for the Melbourne Olympic Games, 24 November 1956 (full length photograph). This photograph was taken outside the Trenberth family home, 15 Moffat Street, Brighton Beach. Marlene Austin (nee Trenberth), was standing next to the family car. Marlene says she was feeling a bit nervous. She was driving a Humber Super Snipe for the first time, when she used to only drive her Dad's car, an Austin A40. However people at the Olympics were very kind and welcoming. She remembers driving the King of Thailand.
