The Cornish extended family on a picnic, in front of their cars, at Ricketts Point, 1 January 1939. Claude and Edith Cornish went to Ricketts Points every Boxing and New Years Day with Claude's brother and his family. They would go in two cars and put a tarpaulin across the cars.
