A woman standing holding a dog in the back garden, near the corner of the house. A cactus is visible behind her. Mrs Staindl with the family dog called 'Popsie' at the back of the family home in Black Rock 1948. She was a collector of prickly pears, seen on right. Inside the house she kept one in the main front window of the house and her husband injured himself once on it by leaning across the window. It took quite some time to remove all the prickles from his chest. Mrs Staindl died in 2004 in her 101st year.
