Description of Content

View of dining room, showing dining table, side board, and heater. Ivanhoe East, 1966. The original owner/builders of this house, a German couple, managed to overcome the post war restrictions on building supplies by cutting back on things such as wiring. When the Gorrell family moved in on the 13th May 1966, they had to rewire the entire house within two weeks of moving in. This was the dining room. The wall unit pictured here also contains a hatch through to the kitchen.
