View of brick house and front garden from street, Ivanhoe East, early 1966. This was the photograph the agents used to sell this property when Lesley Gorrell and her husband purchased it. The front garden was sunken. The previous owner had decorated the outside with many white doves, particularly around the bird birth. Inside some of the unique touches included a decorative pattern in the plaster work made by pressing the base of a butter dish into the wet plaster. The garage had its own roof garden accessed by a white staircase, visible in this image, on the right. The Gorrell family paid $14,00 dollars for this house in 1966. The house was built in 1948.
