Description of Content
Woman and man sitting in the grass on the bank of a river. The man is holding a dog. This photograph shows Mab and Syd Brearley with Tip the dog, taken at the Yarra River, Melbourne, around Studley Park, circa 1913. A family member recalled that lots of people would come from places like Brunswick by train and get off at Victoria Park station to walk by the Yarra. The photographer, Stanley Fletcher, was training to be a professional photographer at Powers Studio. Brunswick. Syd Brearley was a saddler from near Noorat, and he and Mab may have come to Brunswick to visit the family for a holiday. They are wearing their holiday clothes. Tip was probably the Fletcher family dog from Brunswick. The clothes they are wearing are different to those in another photograph in this series, MM110329. This was probably taken on a different day.
