Uniformed zoo keeper feeding a hippopotamus hay in its enclosure. This photograph shows a zoo keeper in uniform feeding a hippopotamus at Melbourne Zoo, circa 1920. This visit was thought to be post World War I by the family. It was 'the done thing' to go to the Zoo for an outing.
