Description of Content
Two women standing on front verandah of weatherboard house. This photograph shows Amelia Fletcher and her daughter Emily Brearley on the verandah of their house in Sandringham, 'Sunnyside', in the 1930's. The family had a large allotment with an extensive vegetable garden and chooks. Amelia's granddaughter Nancy Gallagher remembers 'Quite a grand house, although it didn't seem like it when Nancy was a child.' Emily and her husband Fred lived with Emily's parents for a long time after World War I. Her brother Stan also chose to settle on the same street. Nearby all the local area was heath land and bush.
