This photograph shows a 'midget car meet and race' at Fern Tree Gully, 26 April 1948. Betty Watkins took the photograph. The names of the people in the photograph are unknown. The car is sign-written with the name 'Jack Hedley'. Hedley was a well-known racing driver who later competed in the 1956 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne.
