Description of Content

Seven boys of different ages in party hats at a party table. There is a birthday cake, foil wrapped Easter eggs and a teddy bear on the table. This photograph shows Jon Bortko's 6th birthday party, 31st March, about 1955. The Bortko family were Polish and 'White Russian' migrants who arrived after World War II. The Melbourne suburb they lived in is unknown.
