Description of Content
An enormous wooden wheel, sitting horizontally, with a vertical spoke through the centre, into the ground. There is a stone wall around the perimeter. This photograph shows a gold battery in Queenstown, now Smith's Gully, in the 1930s. The gold battery was used in the early 1900s by locals mining for gold.
