Description of Content
A girl in a party hat, blowing out candles of her third birthday cake. She is holding a butter knife, and wearing a white blouse edged with lace. This photograph shows Liza Retsis at her 3rd birthday party in 1963. Her parents invited their friends and relatives to the party. Liza remembers that her mother Helen 'made Liza's dress and the curtains behind her, but bought the cake. The dress was an off white soft cotton with a Peter Pan collar edged with lace.' Helen Retsis hand sewed smocking on the front. The photograph was probably intended to be sent to a family member or friend. Helen Retsis says that a friend took the photograph.
