Description of Content

A mother, three girls, a boy and grandmother all sitting on a rug having a picnic by a FB Holden station wagon. The grandmother is sitting on a folding camp chair. The car's tailgate and bonnet are open. This photograph shows a Lhuede family picnic in either Gisborne or Woodend, circa 1969. The family had a lot of picnics, especially on the weekend. According to her daughter, 'Elizabeth Lhuede hated picnics', but 'her husband Ted loved them.' Elizabeth's mother Kathleen Lipsett would have been on a visit from Perth. The precise place is unknown, but thought to be in a picnic ground off the Calder Highway.
