Description of Content
An adult family standing outside Californian Bungalow. There is a concrete fountain on the lawn, centre foreground. This photograph shows the Piggott family outside their house in Pascoe Vale, circa 1950. The house is no longer standing, as it was compulsorily acquired for the Bell Street Exit of the Tullamarine Freeway. The family were very shocked to be losing their home. Elsie and William Piggott had come to the area from Port Fairy during the Depression and spent their lives building this security. When the house was acquired they were not given enough money and had to borrow money from their daughter Rita to buy another home.
