A woman in an apron plucking a duck on a wooden box or chopping block in the backyard. She has the wing spread out. This photograph shows Susanna Jewel plucking a duck in the backyard of her family home in Brunswick, circa 1930. The family remembers that they 'raised their own ducks and then slaughtered them for the table. They often lamented they did not enjoy eating Christmas duck as it was likely a recently deceased pet.'
