Rail commuters walking on a railway platform at a train station. This photograph shows commuters on Platform 1, Flinders Street Station, December 1969. The photographer Russell Beedles had a job with the Commonwealth Department of Education and Science and this was his first day on the job. Russell commuted on this line and took shots of his fellow commuters. At this time Platform 1 at Flinders Street Station required passengers to walk under Swanston Street, accessed by a ramp from Princes Bridge Station.
