A man kneeling with an infant boy on a foot-path. This photograph shows Jack Beedles and his son Russell, in St Kilda Road, Melbourne, 1940. Russell was 2 in this photograph. Jack Beedles went away to New Guinea as a serviceman for World War II in the following year, and Russell didn't see him again until 1943 when he returned on leave, and then in 1945, when he was 'demobbed' (demobilised).
