Description of Content
Figures of Krsna and Radharani, in a temple. Boy figures are wearing yellow and white. Krsna is playing a flute and Radharani is holding up her left hand. This photograph shows the Krsna Temple, St Kilda, Victoria, circa 1973. Joy Matthews (spiritual name Gourangi) was a devotee and founding member of the Sydney branch of International Society of Krsna Consciousness (ISKCON). She designed and made the garments depicted on the deities, Krsna and Radharani. This is believed to be one of the first Krsna temples in Melbourne, which was in St Kilda Terrace House.
