Description of Content

Crowd of passengers sitting on a steamer ferry. All the men are wearing suits and hats and the women are wearing hats. This photograph shows passengers aboard a steamer ferry on Port Phillip Bay, circa 1920. Not much is known by the family about this photograph. Adrian Holloway and his mother Elizabeth Holloway, and probably his two sisters went on an outing on one of the Port Phillip ferries, either the 'Hygeia', 'Weeroona' or 'Ozone', probably to Sorrento, in the 1920s. Adrian and his mother are seated to the far left of the crowd. She is identifiable by a turban style hat, with a crest on the centre. He is wearing a broad-brimmed, high crowned hat.
