Description of Content

A father, mother, two boys and two girls standing outside a brick house, with a weatherboard house behind them. The father is wearing overalls. This photograph shows the Ellerbock family standing at the corner of a house, Ringwood East, July 1955. This was the first photograph of the family in Australia after they emigrated from Upper Austria in July 1955. Their sponsor arranged for the Ellerbock family to have temporary accommodation from their arrival in July 1955 to May 1956. The family is standing at the front of the house, with wooden dwelling in left of frame, in Railway Avenue, Ringwood East. According to the family, this may have been the space where the family was accommodated.
