Entrée card issued by Department of Civil Aviation to Councillor & Mrs G.G. Fullarton to gain entry to the Reception to celebrate the opening of the new Melbourne Airport on Wednesday, 1st July 1970.
Graeme Fullarton was living in East Keilor at the time, where he had purchased a block of land in November 1959 on a new housing estate and later built a house with his wife Elaine. In 1966 Graeme stood as an independent candidate in the City of Keilor municipal elections and was successful, serving as a councillor for several years and as Mayor in 1969-1970. He represented the City of Keilor as a guest at the official opening of the new Melbourne Airport, at Tullamarine and at events to mark the opening of the Tullamarine and Calder Freeways.
Physical Description
Folded square card printed in dark blue ink on white stock. The crest of the Commonwealth of Australia appears on the front above the works 'Department of Civil Aviation'.
