Summary
Invitation card issued by the Chairman and Members of the Country Roads Board to Councillor G.G. Fullarton, City of Keilor, for the Official Opening of the Calder Freeway at Niddrie on Friday 21st April 1972 and refreshments afterwards at the Hotel International , Airport West.
Graeme Fullarton was living in East Keilor at the time, where he had purchased a block of land in November 1959 on a new housing estate and later built a house with his wife Elaine. In 1966 Graeme stood as an independent candidate in the City of Keilor municipal elections and was successful, serving as a councillor for several years and as Mayor in 1969-1970. He represented the City of Keilor as a guest at the official opening of the new Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine and at events to mark the opening of the Tullamarine and Calder Freeways.
