Black & white photograph of HRH Princess Alexandra standing on the dais errected at the eastern entrance to the Royal Exhibition Buildings for the centenary address, accompanied by her husband, the Hon Angus Ogilvy, the Permier of Victoria, Rupert "Dick" Hamer, and members of the Exhibition Trustees executive committee.

This is one of 959 photographs (or images) of the Exhibition Building collated by the Exhibition Trustees as a 10 volume pictorial history of the Exhibition Building spanning the years 1880 to 1985. The pictorial history was instigated by the centenary of the Exhibition Building in 1980 and forms part of a larger Royal Exhibition Building collection of documents, photographs, objects and research files.

The image depicts HRH Princess Alexandra standing next to the Exhibition Trustees Chairman, Mr Freeman Strickland OBE on the temporary dais errected at the eastern entrance to the Royal Exhibition Buildings for the centenary address. Standing to Her Royal Highness' right is the Victorian Premier, Rupert "Dick" Hamer, while to the left of Mr Strickland stand the Hon Angus Ogilvy and Mrs Strickland. Also visible in the background are the wife of Exhibition Trustee Rodney Davidson, on the far left of the image, Exhibition Trustee Deputy Director Mr John Elden and Trustee Mrs AJ Watson. There is a printed caption below the photograph.
