The pictorial history was instigated by the centenary of the Exhibition Building in 1980 and forms part of a larger Royal Exhibition Building collection of documents, photographs, objects and research files.

A black & white photographic print on a page of a photograph album. The image depicts Exhibition Trustees Director Mr JC Elden, with fellow Trustees, Cr. Hanna Pan and her husband Mr Otto Pan, along with other guests at the reception following the official centenary ceremony on the 1 October 1980. The image is taken indoors, probably inside the recently completed Centennial Hall. There is a printed caption below the photograph.
