The Kit includes five linking publications that have been designed to work together in a sequence along with some smaller brochures. The titles of these publications are "Understanding Your Environment", "Household Bushfire Site-Assessment Workbook", "Preparing Your Property", "Leaving Early", "Defending Your Property", "Fire Danger Ratings", "Community Fireguard: A Bushfire Safety Program" and "Radiant Heat".

Physical Description

A folder enclosed in an unopened clear plastic wrapper holds various brochures. There is one rip in the plastic halfway down one edge and one side has a white A4 address insert with mainly black text and the Victorian Coat of Arms at top left with a Postage Paid Australian logo on top right. The reverse side shows the folder which is green and predominately red with bold text reversed white and yellow out of the red background.

Significance

Many people living in fire prone areas of Victoria found their safety threatened on Black Saturday and indeed many lives were lost. The need for marketing campaigns to educate the public about the do's and don'ts during high fire danger days is high. This pamphlet is a small part in a larger information strategy that has been published and distributed to help prevent the possibly of such an event ever happening again.
