Photographs in the album depict army camps, hospitals, trenches, early tanks, landscapes, cemeteries and graves and groups of posed Australian soldiers. The places Lord mentions in his captions are La Boiselle, Quarry Siding, Pozieres, Albert, Bapaume and Favreuil.
The album was one of many souvenirs brought back to Australia after World War I by John Lord (service # 6252). He donated photograph albums, images, documents and World War I memorabilia to Museum Victoria.

Description of Content
Field Hospital which is identified by a central pole with a flag with a cross on it. There are many tents set up in a structure way. There are five ambulances driving out of the army camp. There are two other vehicles visible in the photograph. Walking next to the ambulances are several soldiers. There are many people walking on the road next to the tents on the left of the photograph. The field hospital is set in a very flat and barren landscape.
