Image depicting Lieutenants Grills and Rogers and Captain Mason. Lieutenant Shannon Grills belonged to the 7th Battalion F Company and returned (as a Major) to Australia in 1918. Lieutenant Frank Oswald Rogers was assigned to the 7th Battion E Company and returned to Australia in 1915 after being wounded at Gallipoli. Captain Charles Conway Mason was assigned to the 7th Battalion A Company, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel by the end of the war and lived for sometime in Europe with his wife before moving back to Australia in 1932.

Both the caption and the inscription on the back of the photograph record Lieutenant Roger's name as 'Rodgers' rather than 'Rogers.'
