Image depicting the football ground at the Ismalia Camp. At the back of the field there are tents where Turkish prisoners are being held. These prisoners were possibly taken during the First Suez Offensive in ealry 1915. According to its war diaries, the 7th Battalion received orders to move to Ismalia on the 2nd of February 1915.
Description of Content
Large, flat lawned apparently square area. Trees form a screen of sorts along the two visible sides of the lawned area. To the left of the photo are two figures. In the background of the photo, behind the trees, is a collection of tents. Behind the trees to the right of the photograph is what appears to be another collection of tents.
