Five men facing the camera. The three men in front stand in a hole in a line and the man on the right holds a small pick-axe in his hand. Behind them and to the left, standing on the rise behind the hole, are the two other men. The man on the left is holding a larger pick-axe. On the very right the elbow, top of a pick-axe and leg of a sixth figure can be seen.
