Image depicting Captain Finlayson (left) and Lieutenant Conder (right). Captain Christopher Finlayson was also assigned to the Headquarters of the 7th Battalion. He was wounded in early April 1915 and returned to Australia in 1916. Lieutenant Walter ("Wally") Tasman Conder was assigned to the 7th Battalion B Company. He returned to Australia in early April 1915. He was known to be very fond of animals, evident during his subsequent years at Langwarrin camp, Victoria.
