Physical Description

Bank note is stored in an album containing the 2004 'Last Coins' sets and bank notes. The coin set is on the same page as its corresponding bank note.

Obverse Description

At right, an oak tree, with traditional design in background. At top, 'LATVIJAS BANKAS NAUDAS ZIME' with serial number beneath in red. Serial number in lower right. At lower left, '5 / PIECI LATI'. Beneath tree, 'LATVIJAS BANKA' [signature]. A watermark of a woman's profile can be seen above the '5' - this is the same design as the obverse of the old 5 lats coin.

Reverse Description

At centre, traditional design, echoing the design on obverse. At right, coat of arms, with '2001' below. At top left, 'PIECI LATI'. Beneath design, 'LATVIJAS BANKAS NAUDAS ZIME'.
