Charles was known as D23 1/2 after the Russell Street Police Headquarters in Melbourne, D24 building. Part of a collection of photographs, moving film, artefacts, documents and trade literature relating to Massey Ferguson (Aust.) Ltd, agricultural implement manufacturer, importer and distributor, of Sunshine, Victoria, and its predecessors dating back to Hugh V. McKay, who developed an innovative combine harvesters design during the 1880s and founded the Sunshine Harvester Works, at Ballarat, in 1894.
