Summary
Walter James 'Dan' Kell was the Station Master at Powell Creek Telegraph Station with his wife Isabella Jane Kell nee Birkett. They were there from 1896 to 1905. The Kell's adopted two Aboriginal children, Frederick Prentice who was born 1894 and died in 1957 and who enlisted in the AIF and fought in WWI and another Aboriginal child, a girl. In 1905, the Kell family returned to Adelaide with the children.
