Summary
This canoe basket by Betty Namarnyilk contains two types of patterning, bands and blocks of colour on the bottom. It has been coiled and the horizontal bands are interchanged with different dyed and undyed pandanus.
Betty Namarnyilk's baskets incorporate open structural zig zag forms within the coiling. Her work is featured in Object #45, 2004.

Physical Description
Canoe basket, coiled, with horizontal bands and interchanged colours in dyed pandanus (brown and yellow) and undyed pandanus. It has a single long rigid coiled handle that emerges from the last two coil bundles on one side and a single coil bundle on the other side of the rim.
