Summary
A coiled basket by Margaret Nabulwad with horizontal bands of dyed and undyed pandanus with the rows of colour on the bottom of the basket contrasting those on the sides. The coiled handle has been made in kaberlkaridji style, where the handle is formed from the coiled structure of the basket, rather than it being added on.
Margaret lives at Mamadawerre and practices basket making taught by her mother. Her work has been exhibited at Counihan Gallery, Brunswick, in 2003 and included in the exhibition 'Woven Form: Contemporary Basket Making in Australia' at Object Gallery in Sydney, 2005.
