Summary
Coiled into a bucket shape, this basket has been made with chopping colour and cross-coloured patterns in dyed pandanus. The handle is a variation of a berlkudjiwong, in this case, the handle is one spliced loop over two coils extended from the top of the basket. In Gunbalanya bucket baskets are made to reflect the shape of an introduced metal or plastic pail or bucket, the handle on this basket is also an influence from missionary times.
