Summary
French postcard produced by Le Bon Vivant in Paris, at the time of the Second Anglo-Boer War, 1899-1902. The text at the bottom of the card translates as: The Queen doesn't need to send me chocolate: everyday I receive prunes.
The card refers to Queen Victoria's 1900 New Year's greetings to the British troops stationed in South Africa during the Boer War, which took the form of a specially molded chocolate bar in a tin.
Physical Description
The front, which is the side the message would be written on, features a cartoon with text. The reverse has space for the address.
