Summary
This twined mat was made in collaboration with Patricia Narorrga, who made the pinwheel inner portion of the mat, and the more senior artist Molly Nayilibidj, who made the outer section. The use of designs, transference of entire works between artists and assistance in making is an accepted part of fibre practice in Gunbalanya. Sometimes women help each other by making entire objects or parts of them for the other artist. In this instance the collaboration was part of sharing and teaching between women.
