Summary

Pair of Alabaster Corbels with an Eagle Motif. They are believed to be part of the decorative mantlepiece at the Uplands Homestead, Kinglake. The chimney was the only remaining part of the Uplands homestead following the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. It was relocated and installed in the Forest Gallery, Melbourne Museum in 2009.

This is part of a collection of family photographs and artefacts that relate to 'The Uplands' homestead. The Lawrey family were early settlers in the Kinglake area and lived in 'The Uplands' homestead from the late 1890s to 1950.
