Summary
This circular coiled mat by Jill Nganjmirra uses open spaces to form a star design. It has been made using dyed and undyed pandanus and the outer bands alternate between close and open coiling techniques with alternating colours of purple, green, yellow and brown pandanus.
Jill Nganjmirra's main artistic practice is fibre but she is also a painter using Arches paper and bark. She was Assistant Curator of the exhibition Twined Together: Kunmadj Njalehnjaleken.

Circular mat, coiled, with large star design centre of dyed pandanus (purple, green, yellow) and undyed pandanus intersected with scalloping in white colour. The outer bands alternate between close and open coiling techniques with alternating colours of purple, green, yellow and brown pandanus.
